This is an heirloom pattypan type summer squash called Pattisons golden Marbre scallop squash. Yellow summer squash are best eaten at baseball size. But unlike zucchini, these won’t grow to be the size of a small cat if you’re gone for the weekend! Prolific variety. Flavour is mild, slightly nutty, and delicious. I prefer these over zucchini because they are less watery.
All of these seedlings are from locally adapted seeds produced by myself. They currently spend their days outside on my deck and nights in the house.
